Profile: Spaceman Spiff

Personal background
I'm currently an independently contracted software developer. I've worked for IBM, AT&T and others in the past. I've coded everything from applications to operating system components.

I was born in Houston, Texas in 1973, but I've lived all over the US at one point or another. I've recently (within the last two years) moved back to Texas (Austin), and hope to stay here for the foreseeable future.

My main passion is coding, but I'm an avid game player (usually whatever's the flashiest new 3D gizmo at the time), a HUGE fan of Japanese animation, and love to play my '66 Les Paul Custom in my spare time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I guess this kind of stuff has always intrigued me since I watched Cosmos with my dad as a kid. Carl Sagan was one of my heros growing up, and I've always kept a close watch on the astronomical community.

I believe it's incredibly naive to think that ET isn't out there somewhere. I do, however, somehow doubt that he's a little green man abducting cows in Montana.
