Personal background
Born in the 1st half of the previous century, started programming in 1975.
In hex. In assembler. The way the gods intended. First box was a National
SC/MP LCDS, 0.5MHz 256Bytes of RAM. Later graduated to the 8080. (Remember
the 8080?). Had a FORTRAN-80 compiler by some guy, William Gates, that
could crank out 5.0 FLOPS on real*8 sines or cos's.
Now a dedicated Linux geek. Running a small cluster of workstations, mainly
in the GFLOP range. Life is sure better now. I use all 8 registers in the FPU.
