I first became interested in SETI@home when I saw the screen saver program not functioning on my Sixth Form computers. I wondered what it was, and tried to fix it, but it didn't work. So I downloaded the program at home and have run it ever since...this was in 1999. I run SETI@home because I genuinely want to find an Extra Terrestrial signature out there. I think that having this opportunity to be able to run a program on you PC and be able to find a possible ET is great! I think this project is really worthwhile because when we find an ET it will be a lot sooner than if this project never existed. My thoughts on extraterrestrial intelligence is that we shouldn't be afraid of them. They ARE out there, we just have to find them! In time we will definitely discover them. I personally think we should send out our own signal for then to find.
