Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterristrial life must exist but I think we should also realize that we have only been using radio transmissions for a little over fifty years. Who knows, maybe we will find another way to comunicate and Earth will fall silent again to our distant neighbors. Looking for a radio signal is an excelent way to look for inteligent life but we must remember it's not the end all test for life and if we do ever stop using radio waves maybe we should always try to maintain a beacon for other life. I run seti@home on all my personal machines as I see it as a very effective use of my processor.
