Personal background
I'm from Poland, born in 1983. Currently studying Computer related stuff on Technical University of Gdansk (yeah Poland is in Eastern Europe). I've got many hobbies, startin' with Programming, Webdesign, and everything that can be connected to the computer. I also like to travel around the globe, mainly to the east (Russia!) and the North (Finland, Norway, Sweden, Iceland). I always try to find the bright side of everything, being an optimist is my way of livin', thanks to a little Angel.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think extraterrestrial life exist, but I don't think we'll discover it within the next 10 or even 20 years. However miracles happen, so we should keep trying.
2.I think we should transmit a beacon, but we shouldn't put to much info in it. A basic greeting.
3. I run SETI@home, because i like the idea of a project. Also i can keep my computer(s) productive 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In my opinion such projects will become even more popular in the future.
