Personal background |
I live in Edmonton, Alberta and think Seti@Home is a great tool to run in the background. Why not use your spare CPU cycles to help find those elusive E.T.'s? |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
1. Absolutely. With the thousands of billions of planets in the known universe (just imagine how many more there are in the "unknown" universe), the chances of Earth being the sole planet to contain life is inconceivable. Humans will discover life in the next 300 Years.
Benefits - Ray Guns & FTL (Faster Than Light) Technology
Dangers - None. =)
Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
2. Sure, why not? It would invariably prove to be more beneficial to the human race than anything else.
Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
3. The best idle-CPU program around. For thousands of years we've wondered if we're alone in the universe. Hopefully we're at a stage to finally prove that we are not. |
