Hi I live in Stonehaven Scotland, have been crunching since 1999. Just upgraded my PC a few weeks back and moved to Boinc. Now running 2400AMD with 512MB RAM made quite a difference from the old machine which was a 233MHz =)
The SETI program is a very ingenious way of utilising the power of all those PC's when there not busy doing something else. We should as a collective group be campaigning to get more business involved, there is a huge amount of processing power out there in the business world that gets overlooked due to concerns over security, if we can convince them its secure we would add millions more computers to the cause!!!

I like many others who are part of the program believe that it is only a matter of time until a signal, is found/detected that is not of terrestrial origin. Whether it is good news or bad I think the jury has to remain out on that. Its a big universe and its bound to be full of good and bad, however as humans reach out into space I think it is imperative that we seek further knowledge as to its occupation and origins.
One can only hope that we find friends that are willing to share their knowledge with us.
