This KiwiBear is currently a student completing a BSc in Computer Science and Pure Maths. On the side I am writing a custom customer services database in SQL, PHP and Perl for a nearby entrepreneur. I'm happily married to a delightful lady whom I've known for 3.5 years (married since 2003).
Future aspirations? At this stage I'm not entirely sure. I would like to continue to do custom development work but I'm looking into the idea of weather analysis (chaos theory and computers - what could be finer!) or computer based mathematical and/or statistical analysis (can you say MATH GEEK!)
I love a challenge and enjoy problem solving games, etc. I play chess indifferently at this stage due to my lack of patience but I am keen to learn Go.
A common phrase I use is "I've been a geek since BEFORE it was cool!".
I'm 6'4 with light auburn hair, hazel blue eyes and a ready smile. I enjoy hugs and rambling conversations with good friends over a rich coffee. The rest is subject to change without notice.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've been running SETI for a few years now. It gives my computer something to do to keep from getting bored. I started it up because I was curious to see just what could be found if enough "heads" look into it.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
