I am 38 and self employed.I work in the IT Industry.I have always been interested in SETI.My other hobbies include reading and writing poetry.
The search itself brings people together from all walks of life.When intelligent life is found I believe it will brings us human beings together.We will cease our lonely existance and become a part of the cosmic community.Yes it may be a long way off but to me it has always been a question when this will take place rather than if.
My hope is that this glorius project would find more support everyday and continue to grow from strength to strength.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I firmly believe that extraterrestrial life exist.It only a question of when and not if.The vast distances involved in interstellar travel prohibits us from at our current technological level.I do not in my opinion believe that ET would travel millions of lights year to pick a fight but I do believe that when contact is established we would both benefit as a species and gain greater tolerance for our fellow human beings.
With our current technology the most I believe SETI can achieve is locate possible locations in nearby space where intelligent life existed.Other technologies need to be developed to allow for inter stellar communications.
