Personal background
We live in Norfolk, UK. We have a cat, and varying numbers of rabbits, depending on whether any of them have become mums! (We breed them as a hobby, and to help my sister out. It's all her fault that I got started, sort of as an overflow for the cute bunnies she couldn't bear to see going elsewhere, to maybe less caring breeders.)

Sarah's other hobbies include spending too much time online, usually playing RPGs, and she is planning to start a writing course in the spring. Andrew works full time, likes all sorts of gadgets, sci-fi films and tv, and horror films and novels. We both like to keep up with science-related news as time allows.

We used to run the Seti program on our old pc, but it was a little slow to say the least. By the time we had moved house and got a new pc, we had all but forgotten about Seti (I am ashamed to admit.) Then I ran across a link to it on the website of the World Pantheist Movement, and so, here we are again! It's good to be back.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it?
We believe that it is much more likely that life exists elsewhere than not. Who knows, perhaps "they" know we are looking for them, and they are hiding ;)

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
Absolutely, we should reach out with both hands. As for the information - warts and all. All the best relationships are founded on truth.

3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project?
We run Seti@Home because of the tiny chance that out pc will be the one that finds something! But mostly (we are realists) because it is sitting there doing nothing otherwise, when it could be helping search for something that will change humanity forever.
