Personal background
Hi there.
I'm born in June 10th 1967 in Aarhus, Denmark.
Today I live in Randers, Denmark, and work as a programmer for Arla foods amba.

As a hobby, I'm primarily a amateur radio operator, but am not very much on the air these days - This is primarily becource, I live in a flat, without any possibility for putting antennas up :-(
Computers and Internet is also a big hobby for me - and maybee taking over the 1st place from the amateur radio activities.

There's a lot more infos on my web-page at my web site
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is a great possibility that E.T. life exists.
I doubt that jurneys between interstelar comunities will ever be possible, so contact must be made by other means - Radio waves are a good possibility.
To find a radio signal from out there is extremely difficult - the distances in space veaken the signals, so directional antennas must be used both at the transmitter and the receiver station - So evean if someone out there are transmitting in our direction, we might not be listening in the right direction or on the right frequency at the time the signal reaches earth. - Therefore a it's as possible to discover life in space (or signals that point in that direction) today as in 10, 100 or 1000 years...
The impact on humanity will be moderate - we will know there is something out there - but will maybee never be able to visit... We will maybee never be able to communicate (2ways) with them...

Humans are already transmitting "beacons" for others to find. OK, it's not a lot of info in a high power VHF-radar (over the horison radar), but they are quite powerfull, and persistent... If other kind of signals are to be transmitet, it should be VERY powerfull... The info sent might be prime nubers (math is the only really universial language on earth, and might be consideret the same other places too).

I run SETI@home becource here I find a possibility to help performing a huge task. - I would like to know if there is any signals from out there...
The SETI-project is maybee not a project that deals with the primary needs of ppl on this planet, but the need to know, is a nice thing to fullfill. Also there is technical things to learn from a project like this - the way to make distributed processing work its best - the ways to filter noise and interference from weak signals and so. This knowlage can be used inside a lot of other terrestial projects.
