Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am undecided on the posibility of life outside the solar system but if it were to exist in an intelegent form then it would be incredibly rude not to make the the effort to converse!!!

Of course not knowing what the said beings are like could pose a problem if they hapen to be hungry or just have a liking for death and distruction. On the other hand if they are peacefull and devoted to the well being of other planets, scientific research and good causes like that a meeting could be beneficial to the both of us.

on the topic of a beacon being set up for other plannets to find, i dont know how far it all travels but with all our broardcasting and other equipment i would of thought that our planet would stand out like an electromagnetic rock concert, and so the posibility of a beacon would be usefull but not nessary.

I run Seti@Home for a number of reasons but the main two are to utilize the machines unused processing power and to further a cuase that i think is worthwhile.
