My name is Natalia, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Barcelona, Spain. I study biology at the University of Barcelona, and during the last 3 months I've been also learning japanese and plan to keep doing so for several years til I get pretty good at it. I guess my adoration of this language is due to the fact that I love anime. My source of anime are subbed episodes which I download from the internet. Because of this downloading activity, my computer stays turned on for long periods of time and meanwhile I have my SETI screensaver running.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI@home is a wonderful initiative, when I first heard about the project I couldn't wait to instal the screensaver, I was willing to collaborate cause I find it fascinating. The problem was I didn't have enough RAM to run the program, so I wasn't able to begin processing units til I bought a better computer about a year ago.
I definitely believe the conditions for life to be possible may have happened in several other places of the universe, and thus may have given rise to intelligent life.
It'd be a pity that if an intelligent life form wanted to let us know of its existence we hadn't been paying attention cause we hadn't had a program such as SETI.
