Profile: Eduardo Goyanes Jr.

Personal background
I am an Electrical Engineering and Mathematics student at Florida International University based in Miami, FL, USA.

I'm 22 years of age. I was born in Cuba but raised in the US (As of 7 months of age).

I just built a 1.4Ghz Athlon system and thought to use my extra clock cycles since my dual 266Mhz PII system.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe ET exists and I think we already found it with those bacteria samples fromk Mars. However as far as an intelligent and technological ET is concerned I feel that won't happen for atleast the next 200 years.

Again, didn't NASA send a few satellites with their purpose being to exit the solar system and to contain information about the human race and its history thus far? I haven't really decided what is a good idea to say or what is a bad idea to say in fear of the possibility that an ET can become a hostile threat. Regardless to, I am fascinated about the topic and DO hope they are a peaceful species.

I think SETI@home will not be the source of contact with an ET, but if it isn't done then we'd be decreasing our possibilities of ever finding anything. I think the project should be based from telescopes orbiting the earth rather than be grounded. I believe this would yield more accurate data. We may have already seen an intelligent signal but it may have been to week to be detected.
