Profile: Brian Kemp - (500 Mhz)

Personal background
My name is Brian Kemp and I am a member of the "Why Not Try" SETI team. We have members around the Basildon area in Essex, England. I am 30 years old and my hobbies are SETI, Satellite Television, Astronomy, The Internet and Computing In General. I write websites in my spare time. My main projects are www.britishsatellite.com, www.digital-audio-broadcasting.co.uk, www.basildontown.co.uk and www.basildon.tv
My PC system is a Pentium 4 - 1.7Ghz machine and the first thing I done was join the "Why Not Try" team again so I have my name twice in our team! My Dad is also in the team and I am actively trying to get new members to join us all of the time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say "Hi!" to my parents, "Why Not Try" members, other SETI users and my Girlfriend Kelly. Big "Hi!" to Kimberley, Kyle, Jasmyn, Zena, Matt and Stuart.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that SETI is a very important project. With every new planet, star and distant object that is discovered, there is more and more chance of finding Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. I personally believe it is out there and am more than happy to look for it.

I enjoy it as it combines Astronomy with Computing and I also love satellite equipment and this includes them all! It is a great way of keeping an eye on your processor too to see if it is up-to-date! Looking at a local rival team, I am pleased to say that my processor is the fastest! I also frequently look at the countries statistics accessable via the SETI homepage and find these interesting.

Humans should transmit signals into outer-space and explore the planets when the technology is available. I remember watching with my Dad the series "Cosmos" with Carl Sagan (now sadly deceased) when I was younger and this captures my imagination of what could be out there! I also enjoy watching "The Sky At Night" here in the UK with Patrick Moore.

As far as I am concerned, if you have a PC with spare processor time, join us! Long live the SETI project and it's supporters.
