I'm in my mid-thirties. I am self employed. I call myself a graphic designer, others call me a Web Master.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm very interested in learning about any alien cultures - I don't believe that we are alone in the Universe. The fact that we haven't found anything yet raises some questions:
1 - are we really sure that we are looking for the right kind of signal? We could be looking right though the signals we are seeking simply because we don;t know that they are there.
2 - how safe _is_ the Universe? We've been transmitting our presence for many years now. Would the best policy is to follow the examples of the other civilisations in the Universe and keep quiet?
Running SETI at Home is something that I am pleased to do - I get ribbed about looking for aliens, but the chances are that we will find something.
