Personal background
"We are all made of star stuff"- Carl Sagan.
I'm an 18 year old living in MO, USA. I'm going to Stanford University in September. Currently I'm planning on dual majoring in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and then going to graduate school for about 6 more years and getting a Ph.D and hopefully working in the aerospace industry, I'm one of those people who get excited about the thought of stagnating trailing edge vortices.

About the picture, it was taken while I was on a camping trip in June 2003. it features me falling on a 45lb backpack.

I'm running SETI on my AMD 2700 at home and a couple of other slower computers that I've snuck the software on. Although lately I've been overcome with a bit of Stanford school pride and been running Folding@Home. (BEAT CAL!)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Despite the fact that its from Berkeley (the lesser school, of coures:-)) I strongly support the SETI program. Being a space aficionado I can't help but think there are other civilizations out there. We might as well as listen right? If we do make contact, it would easily overshadow any other human accomplishment to date, and besides, life would be too lonely and boring without trying and hoping.
