Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been running SETI on and off since 1999. It's one of the most interesting project in BOINC. I believe it will help us explore new frontiers just like Star Trek.

My only suggestion would be to have a bare-bone command-line version of this app so that users can run it as a batch job in the background. There may be one program like that but I'm not aware of it.
