Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well I do beleive that extraterrestrial life exists. I don't think we, we the livingthings, were created just by-chance!. I beleive there is another world out there. I don't know how humans will discover it. We will find them out sooner or later (otherwise they will) and I think SETI is a good point to start from. Because we haven't seen them it is quite hard to predict what they will be like. They might be good for us but they might be harmful too. It might be the end of our civilization...I'm not a pessimist but just a thought :)
When I first heard about SETI i could not beleive it. So I thought to give it a try. I was intrested in this project more as a computer science student. Now I've got SETI running on at least 2 P-4 computers and sometimes on 5 P-4s. I run it on Linux and freebsd machines.
