Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think its totally plausable that ET life exists. In fact I'd say theres a 99% chance that there is at least bacteria growing somewhere out there. As for intelligent life, I'm a bit skeptical that we will find some in my life time. If you thik about it, we are possibly one of the most advanced races in the universe, and we are yet to travel out of the gravity of our own planet. I think that if there are more advanced civilisations out there that they would be closer to the outer edges of the universe. As when the universe was forming, and expanding, those regions solidified and cooled the quickest. Looking for radio signals that resemble some type of uniform noise is pretty much the only option we have of searching for these beings, and although its a long shot, I'd like to be part of the search if we are lucky enough to find them.
