Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that other life exists out there, otherwise it's just a big waste of space. I think that we will eventually discover other life out there, but it may take some time.
I think the benefits and dangers of such a discovery would be very similar to when white man discovered America, only on a global scale. We shall have to wait and see.
I think the first signal that will be discovered will be the first HF radio transmission made in 1938. The only problem with this is the fact that it was Hitlers Nuremburg address. If that was the first thing you heard from another planet what would you think???????
I beleive this project has a great advantage because it enables everyone to be a part of a large searc, the sort of search that was previously left to a select view, and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to the people that developed this project for enabling me to a part of this search.
