Personal background
I am a native Virginian, and also a professor at Virginia Tech. I work in the Department of Wood Science, in the College of Natural Resources. My research deals with the chemistry of adhesion as related to the manufacture of composite materials made from wood. I am an avid amateur astronomer. You can see my backyard observatory with my photo.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the graphics need to be jazzed up a bit on the screen-saver. Let's get some space molecules on that thing, a few nebulae, globulars...
