Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
Yes.
2. If so, when and how will humans discover it?
Much of it lives in New Zealand, on sheep farms and in Tasmania (a small island near the bottome of Australia that just won't float away)
3. What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
I don't need to answer that. EVERYONE has seen all the Sci-Fi programs. Look what happened in Mars Attacks!
4. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Why not?
5. If so, what information should we send?
We could send an ad. You know "Come to Earth. Be dissected in a nice, friendly environment."
6. Why do you run SETI@home?
It's the most productive thing my PC does. It can't make coffee so this is the next best thing.
7. What are your views about the project?
It gives otherwise useless toys something useful to do.
8. Any suggestions?
Pay me a 6 figure income to be the Australian representative!
