hi all
we are actually a couple ,
Eric Soulliage and Nan Soulliage
Eric : I am From Canada , living in France , i'm 32 , i work as an IS manager for a .com EMEA (Europe/Africa/Middle East ) division , hobbies are travelling , learning new stuff (and more specifically languages , i'm fluent french english spanish , and working on mandarin) , skydiving , anything that has to do with flight both atmospheric and "out there" , RC modelling (i've designed two "classical" air frame and working on a "near orbit" model craft (been working on it at odd times for about 2 years, 2 way comm is the real problem ;) )
Nan : My wife , she is Chinese , living also in france , she's 32 , working as an investment concellor in an international investment bank , hobbies are reading novels , movies , travelling , playing cards and ma-jong with girl friends , learning french (although this does'nt seem to be a hobbie but more a work for her ;) )
i am using our home network of 3 computers , a 400Mhz PII ,1.6GhzPIV and 2.4 Ghz PIV to crunch numbers for seti on a full time basis , this is a come back since i had another network doing the same in Canada a couple of years back |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. yes it has to , somewhere in time/space (i.e at some time somewhere) , did it /will it exist somewhere outside our time frame , probalby , iside our time frame ...... hum unknown this is why i joined the SETI@home initiative. Possible benefits would be to add up to the global inteligence of the known universe and possibly find a exotic vacation ressort , dangers ???? i guess hollywood is more versed on this subject , but the federation did go to peace with both Kligons and Romulans ha! ha!
2. a beacon ? why not , i guess a evil alien could trace Voyager I&II to it's originating point so the potential damage is already done (naive baby boomers!!! ha! ha!) ,as for the message , i guess an invitation for cofee or a cool one would display peacefull goals ;)
3. FINALLY a space project not run by a more or less shady government agency , i'm still waiting for disclosure of information on the Roswell incident , with millions of us in the project hard to hide info , or maybe the heads of SETI are members of a secret US inteligence agency or secret commnity planning a planetary invasion ?????? wooohooo to much X-Files and sci-fi ha! ha!
suggestions: what about a comprehensive sky map of surveyed systems (for the laymen average guy that does'nt carry a telescope in his trunk) , and information on thoses systems , since we've been discovering outside of sol planets ??? , the info i have found yet on the site is either a complex row of number (that's worst then chinese for me) , or bad quality bmp,' with no info on the highlighted star system that have been classified as potential good subjects ....... but hey , this is just my 2 cents
