I'm a systems engineer for DBSi, a webhosting and disaster recovery service provider in Bethlehem, PA. I usually have a bunch of servers running the seti client. Some of the servers I've had running recently on Seti are:
2 Sun Enterprise 220
3 Dell 1550 - Dual P3/1Ghz
3 Dell 6450 - Dual P3/700 Xeon
2 AMD Duron 1.3ghz
1 AMD Athlon 1.8ghz
1 AMD Athlon 1.5ghz
Check out what I'm working on now at my website.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There has to be something out there. Even if we don't find anything, it's still a cool distributed computing project.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
