Personal background |
I am 18 years old, with zero social life, and have been completely obsessed with computers for as long as I can remember. For 6 months now, I have been running an IRC server (Vancouver.WA.US.HomelessIRC.net) that is part of an IRC network (HomelessIRC.net) that I started with some friends about a year ago. I am currently running seti@home on 2 computers. One is a PIII 800 running windows 2000, and the other is a PII 400 running SuSE Linux, which also runs my IRC server. And even with the high work load on my Linux box, it still goes through work units about 3x faster than my windows computer that is 2x faster. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I don't even remember where I first heard about Seti@home, but as soon as I did I thought it was a great idea. The main reason that I like seti@home is that I can feel like I'm doing something important, and contributing to a good cause without spending any money, or having to leave the house on the weekends. |
