Profile: Bruce E. Johnson

Personal background
I am 47 yo and live in Rochester, NY. My educational background is in the "hard" sciences i.e. Biology (B.S. SUNY-Geneseo 1985). I am a Folk Luthier/Musician and Artist (Photography and Wood Carving).

I am a past member of SETI@Home. My account was under "Doc" Johnson - bej9436@msn.com if anyone would care to see it. I cannot find my password and that email account is defunct. I am sorry to lose all that credit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have absolutely no doubt that there are many centers of Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence outside of our immediate (human) experience.

It is rather ego/ethno-centric to delude ourselves that Man is the epitome of the Master's creation.

The Universe is too vast and nature is so compelling that informed, un-biased thought cannot help but come to the conclusion that we are not alone.

I feel that the apparent paradox that is cited by the sceptics (If "they" are out there why haven't we been in contact with them?) is like - Wanting a lobster dinner, setting a table by the shore, then, when a lobster fails to crawl onto the plate, concluding that there are no lobsters in the sea.
