Personal background |
So you want me to spill my guts to a bunch of people that believe in little green persons??
I am a technical Instructor living in Denver, CO. I am a life-long learner....Ok so I am still working on my Master's degree. (hey, sometimes life gets in the way.)
My personal motto: "When I stop learning, bury me!"
I have known about SETI for some time, but I learned about SETI@home from a co-worker (he had it running on his laptop). I was fascinated by the concept of not only looking for little green persons but also distributed computing on such a large scale.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. To think that we here on planet Earth are the only intelligient (?) living organism in existance is VERY selfish and small-minded.
There are always benefits and dangers in new discoveries...yet I think in this particular situation we have much to learn, therefore benefit.
2. I think with all the various waveforms that we are zipping around the world and beyond, we may already be sending a far more valuable beacon than one that is specifically created for the purpose. (remember the picture of a naked man and women on past space explorations? No wonder why we have not been answered...would you????)
3. I think this project is great. Here we have an amazing amount of computing power available. Why not use it??? |
