Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think we are not alone in the galaxy. However, I do not believe that we have been visited...Yet.
From a religious aspect the Bible tells us that God created man to worship him. If that were so, he surely would have created life on other worlds so they too could worship him.
From a scientific point of view I agree with the statement "if we're alone there sure is a lot of wasted space". In all the vastness of space I am confident there is other life.
I get a chuckle out of the fact that film & tv creators all seem to picture alien life as humanoid. You think that is due to the fact that humans usually play these roles in costume, or is it due to the fact of all life believed to be created in God's image?
I think the SETI project is a worthwhile endeavor & am proud to do my little part to help. I run the software in the hopes that we will indeed discover life other than our own. I do worry what will happen if/when first contact is made. We are an aggressive species & will probably shoot first & ask questions later.
Just some thoughts from a curious homo sapien.
