Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Spending my childhood in the 60's & 70's, I remember life was filled with the excitement of technological advances and Space Exploration. It was like a drug that compelled our economy & industry to build more perfect, exacting, machinery. Look at the great technology wonders -- The Hoover damn, Arecibo, Cheyenne Mountain.... None of these things were built by private enterprise or the Enteprenural Spirit. These greatest of human achievements were built by BOLD GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS. We need to organize, hit the streets and demand great things from our leaders! We have the aptitude, we have the resources, now we need leaders with VISION ~ Leaders with a MACRO-economic view of the world. Instead of micro-managing, penny-pinching, war-mongers.
