Personal background
My hobbies include programming (stated above) as well as fishing, general computing, games and design work. I also like music (System of a down, Weezer, Yngwie Malmsteen, No use for a name). I'm also a practising wicca amongst other things.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? In a word, yes, I mean it would be bone idle to think that we are the only intellegent life in this universe. I already think that we have made contact with alien races (yes, yes, conspiracy freak) but I do think if more and more people keep using seti there is a very good change that a signal will be detected. If a signal is detected I think that with all the different countrys will pull together to develope technology to be able to transmit a strong enough beacon for them to hear us.

I think that when alien life is found it should put an end to a few religious wars :)
As well as that my hope is that it will unify the earth (wishful thinking there then).

I run seti because there is a chance, however small, that we can detect an alien signal from space.
