Personal background
Born 1954 and been looking at the stars ever since wondering if there was life out there and could I ever go there. Well in the 40 years I've learned that I not quite the person who can go physically into space but I try to help find out the other question. I'm retired Navy Officer who now teaches at a school for students with behavioral problems. I try to instill hope, wonder and curiosity into them and feel more successfully in doing that instaed of dealing with the pigheaded, shortsighted, neoptistic people we have in the governement. I wander outside ever night looking at the stars, wondering, hoping and praying that one day we will get it right, get to space, meet others and develop as beings in the broad universe.

I enjoy reading ,trains, models, playing simulation games and being with my wife of 5 years. I have a son from a previous marriage getting ready to graduate in computer sciences and daughter getting ready to graduate from high school in 2 years. I have 3 step children and 3 step-grandchildren that I treat as my own. One day I hope they will be able to vacation in space, of course that was my dream for me when I was 15.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My general feeling on the Search of Extraterristal Life is this: "Its typical of man to be so self-centered and egotistical to think that he is the only intelligent life in the universe" My feeling is there are others, maybe they are a lot smarter than we are or have more common sense to know that letting mankind into space at this time is a danger to the existence of the universe. They are waiting for use to mature, just like we have to do to get a Driver's License. Maybe one day we'll be allowed to take the test...I hope to see it....

I think we send enough stuff to space although not necessary the images I think show us in our best light. Maybe we should send signals out of our good side, God knows we already send out the trash.

I run it because every little bit helps..I hope to put 15 more computers at school on in the next year and then eventually 10 more. Would like to get whole school district involved but the Techno geeks are too scared to do it.
