Well,
I was born in Utica, NY, USA and am still here now, hehe. You'll notice that I have set my country to Ukraine (where I have roots). The reason for this, is in the next paragraph. I'm sad to say, that the current political situation here in the US, and it's general direction towards Earth grows further from my own views daily. In protest, I choose not to put my WU's to the credit of the United States. I would suggest that if you feel similiar, you might consider the same. Sorry for being REAL?... No (HET, negative, negatory, etc).
I've been messing with computers since about 1980 and run a number of servers throughout the US.
Overall, I think space is the next hope for humanity.. If we don't blow ourselves up first! We need to stop the Unilateral war agenda currently strong in the US. Without this, we may never see the day when space is truly the "final frontier".

1) I'm of the thinking that to say extraterrestrial life doesn't exist, would be extremely selfish. What do they look like? Not a clue. Could be just like us, or totally different. But I would like to know within my life :)
Maybe we have already in some ways? Benefits, well if we discover them, or them us, I'd hope they are more curious then self-serving.. And with such tech/etc, if things are right here right now, chances are they are a lot more advanced, and if we could show that we won't just blow ourselves up with it, maybe they'd share.. At the same time, if that's not the case, I'd hope that they wouldn't share anything that could be used like that. We know what's gone on abroad over the last 10 years and more.. We have seen what happened 9-11. So we'd better hope if something comes along, they don't enable any more of all that.
2) Beacon? Well would it hurt? LOL
3) Well, cause it's something good for idle computers to do :) Something that could lead to something seriously positive for the people of earth, and maybe even those elsewhere......
