Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think extraterrestrial life may exist, but it isn't necesary more intelligent then us. It could ex. be some form of bacteria.
It's hard to say when we'll discover the "Aliens" If we're talking about lifeforms at the same or higher AI level than us, then maybe a signal will be detected at SETI@Home some day.
The benefit could be to exchange technological information with the Aliens
One of the dangers: They could be superrior to us, and maybe they want to conquer the earth.

2. Yes, I think we should...The extraterrestrials could be answering, you never know!
The information sendt out have to be short and specific, like coordinates and direction

3. I run SETI@Home becouse the chance of finding anything increases when you're part of a project with the computing power like no other.
The other reason I run SETI@Home, is becouse it's fun to watch the stats & try to beat your friends ranking.
I think SETI@Home is an exelent project
