Personal background
I work in Advertising ... in CHICAGO! I am the Creative Director

For kicks: I play Flute, Keyboards and Violin, I ride horses (English and Western), I support non-violent environmental causes, hangout in the Catskills and anywhere near the ocean. My favorite places include: Manhattan, Montreal, Chicago, Lexington KY, Rockport MA, Woodstock/Saugerties/New Paltz NY, Florida's Gulf Coast, Tortola, Venice Italy, Milan Italy. I chase violent storms (12 tornados to date). Creative writing (esp. poetry). Architecture. Heading out with B&W film in my camera. Computer graphics.

Things that make make me smile: Rubinato scented inks, astronomical events/discoveries, being on the ocean (and losing site of land), whale sitings, rain forests (and getting lost in them), Vivaldi (which comes close to making me purrrrr). The right shade of purple of lime green.

People who I love (a word I do not use lightly): Mom & Dad, Paule & Roger, Elaine & Henri, Rob, (that takes care of family), Carol (my best friend), Scott S., Chris P., John K., Bill M., Matt H., Bryan W., Sean V., Gabriel T.

Spiritually: Buddhist/Quaker/Catholic - YES ... they CAN coexist!!! And I have been told I have a "Jewish Soul" I tend to agree with that. *grin* Although, in general, there is much that speaks to my spiritual side.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Don't freak by my answer to the question "Do I think Extraterrestrial life exists?" My answer is yes ... in fact, I think they exist on this planet already (or at least visit often).

I basically think we need to get our planetary diplomacy and cohabitations issues worked out before we try to communicate beyond Earth.

And who knows, maybe they are waiting for us to do that before they communicate with us.
