As an one of the older children in this world, I enjoy several things in life. R/C racing, woodworking, Archery, and of course computers. I am a regional support consultant for a large nationwide company. I tend to the needs of several dozen servers and many more users in our field offices across the USA.
My Group, "The North Coast Surfers" is a group out of the NorthEast corner of Ohio, USA. My wife has several children she cares for on a daily basis, and we try to make them computer literate in the progress of caring for their needs and before/after preschool and school needs.

Extraterrestial Life! This universe is too large and too diverse for God to allow life to exist in one location. I do wonder "If we encounter extraerrestrial life" what the people of Earth will do. I think the vast majority of people can handle it or just wouldn't care. Many people on this Earth have a hard enough life just caring for themselves and children. The governments of this Earth,I am sure will try to use it to their advantage. Hide the technology and advances, will be the rule.
Should we have a Beacon. I don't think so. We should approach with caution. Not with guns drawn with any encounters, but be very cautious. I see us depleting this Earth of resources and can only wonder "Is this why them have come here". Recall the line in Matrix. "Humans are like a virus, they consume the host till it dies. It does not live in harmony as most other organisms". I would be cautious of any life form that is technology advanced and can hammer you into the ground at a moment notice.
Why do I run SETI. I would like to know if life is out there. If it is, I would hope to life and exchange ideas with them. Not conquer. We couldn't organize that anyway. We are too busy fighting with our Earth neighbors. We need a reason to grow up on this Earth and that could be the catalyst.
