| My name is David Lee Hallmark. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my wife Carol, son Michael, 2 cats and a turtle. I joined the Planetary Society in 1991 and Seti@home in 1999. My interests include Space Exploration and the Search for Extra-terrestrial life and I have been an ardent fan of Star Trek since I was in high school in 1966. I am a collage artist and collect stamps, world paper currency, and odd documents which I use in my artwork. I also collect Star Trek and other science fiction toys and memorabilia. My favorite cable TV channel is the Sci-Fi channel. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I first joined Seti@home in 1999 and was running the program full-time on a Windows-based computer. It eventually began causing memory problems when my wife and son were using the computer so I purchased a PowerMac from eBay and am now running it 24/7 and out of the way of the other users in my house. I run the program because I am excited at the prospect of making contact and being able to participate with tens of thousands of others around the world in a project that can have an enormous impact on the evolution of our human species. Although I have serious doubts as to the visitations of extra-terrestrial intelligence on the earth now and in the past, I do firmly believe they are OUT THERE! I look forward to making contact in my lifetime. |
