Personal background
I'm a 30 year old (21 at heart) male born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a manager in retail shoes. One of my favorite hobbies is following the SETI program and their progress in making "the greatest discovery of humankind". Ever since I was a child I have had a very strong feeling that we are not alone in the universe, and I am excited to be a part of SETI's work.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that ET life exists in the universe. We will meet them when they are ready for us to see them. If intelligent life exists, and knows who we are, then they know we, as a society, are a long way from being ready to accept and understand. I feel that I am ready for this info of course, but most people I know are critics of my belief and it would come as a great shock. Over the next few centuries we could be introduced a little a time to ET life, which has happened all along, if you believe that UFO's really exist. This would continue until ET life could come on out and introduce themselves and not cause much of a commotion at all, in fact, it would be expected. I wish I could be here when it happens, but when I look at where we are as a society I see that we have a long way to go to begin to worry about whats beyond our own atmosphere.
