Personal background
Hi

My name is Kristina and I am from Brisbane, Australia. I was originally born in New Zealand, but moved to Australia in 1998.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Business at university, and work full time as an assistant accountant, life is pretty busy. I am an avid Trekkie, although not an obsessed one (my partner would disagree on that point).

I also have an interest in Egyptian history and mythology, and I have three Egyptian tattoos to prove that!

LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There must be other life out there, it would be egotistical of ourselves to think that Earth is the only planet that has life on it. Whether they're close by or millions of miles (or light years) away makes no difference, it will still be there.

Maybe they have already found us, and are watching. At the moment maybe that's not such a good idea considering what's been happening lately, we must look like idiots to outsiders right about now. Or maybe what's happening here, happens on everybody's planet at some point. There must be fanatics all over the universe.

There is always a risk in discovering something new, will they be friendly, will they try and take us over, invade or just blow us up! But surely those risks are small compared to the possible benefits of extra-terrestrial relationships; new friends, new trade, new gadgets!

This is why I run Seti (although again my partner thinks I'm silly), just to see what happens. I just hope I'm helping out on my old run down PC.
