Profile: Dark Star

Personal background
I am 39 years old and live in the North East of England where I

I operate my own on-line business ‘TBD Trading’ from home selling a selection of auto products. As such my computer is on almost 24-7. However, that’s not to say I’m always sitting at it. I have a rescued German Shepard who reminds me, there’s more to life than work and to stick my head up every now and then and to take a llok around, so we do get some exercise. Therefore, rather than running the usual office screensavers, I opted to use this off time for a worthwhile project.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have taken part in the Seti project for several years now having migrated from the Classic project interface. Several people have said why bother, we probable won’t find anyone out there, well, I look at it like this! The question, ‘is there life out there?’ I believe is a moot point! I find it inconceivable that we are the only life in existence, however, the questions that I do ask is;

*is there any other intelligent life?
*Are we close enough to make contact.

I think the answer to the first question is yes, however, when it come to the second, the only way in-which we will find an answer is to look and to look we need the seti project. Throughout our history, humans have strived to make contact with other cultures on our own planet, now, however, we are in the position to look beyond our own skies and I think we own it not only to our selves, but to our forefathers to continue the with search. Curiosity is in our nature!
