Extraterrestial life does exist! Our current ways of locating them are flawed. We have to move a significant distance from the Earth, so we'll be better able to communicate without interence from Earth as a planet. The Moon is the 2nd best site to currently use for scanning signals.
Getting clear of our atmosphere is the idea here so as to get clearer lines of communication in a multitude of directions.
A definite benefit in contact is the rewriting of our currently distorted history. But yes there exists the possibility of our extermination from a hostile military takeover, or scientific experiment. (I mean look what we've done in the past to far-off lands or different races of people and creatures the dominant group considered inferior!)
Find them, Religion them, Kill them, Herd them, Ensalve them, Kill them again, Teach them, Then oops.. we were politically incorrect in our action, now that we have brought attention to ourselves. Have a nice day.
Transmitting a beacon in rythmic patterns, composed of binary data and images, would be sufficient especially if that data could be transmitted via our farthest man-made satellite. But placement is crucial, as well as the information itself.
Too bad we dont have buoy's floating in space to do just that. (A physical network outside of the network, 1 light year away.) |
