Personal background
Hi there all you little green men & human's!

I'm an IT professional from Helsinki, Finland. Yup, you know the tiny little piece of Northern Europe, the land of booze and polar bears! (Well, we don't really have polar bears in here, even though Americans seem to believe in it... However the booze-part is quite accurate :-])
I've been participating for Seti@Home project almost 2 years now, however the total computing time exceeds 10 years. A little glitch in time-space continuum, perhaps? (No you Americans, even in Finland people might have more than 1 PC...)
And I'm happy to see that my efforts has inspired so many of my co-workers and friends to join this ever-growing project.
So I've been sad to hear that Seti@Home is going to be stopped in near future. Yes, there will be a new project, Seti2, BOINC or whatever it will be. But it won't be the same, so I will keep processing the work-units as long as it is possible, but then... Silence... The end... Good bye...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. The universe is infinite, so yes; in some 'corner' of it will be some sort of life. I'm sure of it.

2. No comment on this, maybe later...

3. It's non-commercial, it's global, it's free, it's well done. That's all I need. Oh, and I'm gonna be the one whose PC will find that teeny-weeny bit of information that is extra-terrestrial. And, yes. I'm an optimist :-D
