As for personal data, well, I am a single father of five children. Most think the project is at least cool, one is just too young to know better yet. :-)
I live in New England with my kids and we do spend clear nights observing our night sky. We are blessed with a darkness that only country dwellers can relate to. No light pollution at all. While viewing the vast sky, we talk, make notes and sip hot chocolate. ( Hey, winter is even colder at night ).
I have yet to convince my three oldest that running SETI on their systems would further the cause, however they do have interrest in other BOINC projects.
If you have similar interests or questions I try my best to answer what I can.

Nerdy as it may sound, I simply believe that there is someone to be found out beyond our on homeworld. As a kid I dreamed of life else where in the Universe. As an adult, the dream is the same only now we can actually search and wait. I am proud to be part of the project and to share in the quest for truth. I imagine that we will one day know for certain if we share the cosmos with other. Perhaps they are looking as well. Whom will be found first, them or us?
