Personal background |
I am 23 and live in Bristol, England. I am training to be a Financial Advisor at the moment with an Independent Advice company.
I enjoy going to the gym and the cinema and at present drive a Mini Flame Red, which is a bit patchy due to rust repair.
Have been in Bristol ever since coming here to study in 1996. Finished that and just kind of stayed here! |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I think that ETL quite possibly exists and enjoy the whole concept of Space and exploration etc. It's maybe a bit blasphemous, but I enjoy watching all the films as well (how accurate they are, nobody knows...)
If there is something out there then wether or not to actually make contact is hard to say. You just wouldn't know if they were going to be friendly/hostile until it was too late. The chances of discover are fairly small though, as there is just so much "space" out there. This is one of the main reasons why the SETI project was set running, because of the sheer volumes of data that needs to be looked at.
I run SETI because it is interesting to see the information being processed and knowing that you could possibly turn something up. It is also good to be part of the "team" and look at the figures and the sheer number of processing hours that have been notched up. I leave it running at work overnight and over the weekends as the computers stay on anyhow. |
