Personal background
Hi, I am from Almere, Netherlands, and I am a Systems Engineer at Cisco Systems. I am interested in space travel, and usually watch the Nasa TV webcasts. See http://spaceflight.nasa.gov then select realtime data. I think it will be exciting if we ever get a man on mars in my lifetime.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1: yes. We will not discover it directly. They will probably discover us. Benefits are we can gain advanced knowledge in many areas. Dangers are we are not ready for such discoveries...too many people watch movies like independance day, and would try and kill them all off.

2:Yes. We should send images of earth. I think it is pretty far fetched that any ET life would speak english.

3: I run Seti because I think it is a cool idea, and I want to be the one to find something.
