I am originally from Oak Ridge, TN. I am a Network Engineer for BellSouth in Atlanta, GA and am also the Fire Chief of Mountain Park, GA. I enjoy building historically accurate replicas of ships, planes, etc. I also enjoy just any kind of work with my hands and machines. I also keep various aquariums and ponds. I have a wife, 3 kids, all teenagers the oldest of which is just graduating from high school, a dog and 3 cats as well as a bunch of salt water and fresh water fish.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I have been a SETI@Home user for quite a number of years. I believe that there is life out there but that it is too far away for them to get here or for us to get there ("its a long way from here to over yonder, my feet, theyre getting mighty sore...") The only way to observe extraterrestrial life is by the interception of their either deliberate or accidental radiations. I have been involved in Grid Computing initiatives at my work. We host one of the largest non-academic Grids in the country. SETI@Home was one of the earliest adopters of this concept, really before the concept of a Grid was conceived. |
