Personal background
I work Full-time and attend school Part-time studying Interactive Multimedia.
I have always been interested in anything related to SPACE! ( Must have been those darn Star Wars movies growing up )
I currently run SETI on 2 PC's ( 850Mhz and 600Mhz )
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. ET's have to exist. There is NO WAY we can be the ONLY living beings in this seemingly infinite universe.

2. We should transmit a beacon, however we should be prepared for the consequences if we actually reach someone/something. I don't know if this world could handle it at this time. If for some reason the ET's are friendly -cool beans, if not- well... at least we could solve the world peace issue because all of the nations would be on the same team then. :)

3. I run SETI because it seems like such a waste for my normal screen saver to use all of that processor time and not do anything with it other than to save my monitor from burning images into itself. SETI is such a great concept. I noticed other users mentioned uses to cure AIDS or CANCER...what about using a SETI like platform to study data from inner-space? THE OCEANS are a bit more accessable than outerspace, and we hardly know anything about it.
