Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think it is quite feasible to suggest that extraterrestrial life exist. Humans should definitely transmit a beacon for others to find and I would like to thank those that help support SETI. Since we have the technology, why shouldn't we search? The money we use to search for ET may come back to us to create technology never even dreamed of. It might be technology that could make life a lot better for all of us. I don't believe it would make life worse for us if we discover ET, because if they have the ability to contact us, then I don't believe they would have progressed that far unless they were wise enough not to destroy each other on their own planet. Therefore, they may help us solve some of our own problems here on earth. The main reason I use SETI@home on my computer is because I want to help SETI. The reason I want to help SETI using my PC is because I believe that their purpose is good and that the discovery of extraterrestrial life would unite people on earth. It would remind all races that we are all one-world race and are not as different as many people think. Godspeed SETI!
