I've on started crunching Seti WU's on the 11 January 2003
The main PC is a 2.7Ghz pentium 4 with 512mb of pc2700 it crunches one WU every 3 hours...ish
I have another 3 PC's running the seti CLI. but they are slower machines.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe in the existence of other lifeforms in our universe. I think we will discover them by accident not by searching the Sky's for a radio signal on a limited bandwidth. It would be silly to try and guess the outcome of the discovery of ET.
I think we already transmit enough radio signals. And how do we know they would communicate using radio signals? So there is no need to send a beacon up.
I belive in the Seti project because it helps to gain knowledge of the universe that we live in. I think the project is great as a scientific study of the universe and a method to map the sky's but I'm not in a position to give any suggestions to such a grand scheme.
