Profile: Mark Bounds

Personal background
As you can gather from the above details, my names Mark, I'm 21 and from the UK. I work as an IT Manager for an engineering company, and also deal with Health and Safety and Quality Control.

I am engaged to be married and have a son who is called Shane and will be a year old in October, and love them both to pieces.

My hobbies include playing RPG's, reading, working and playing on my computer, sport and other stuff that you probably don't want to know.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
OK, now we're going into strange territory - I believe that ET does exist but is just waiting for us to be ready to actually meet them - ie like in Star Trek: First Contact sort of thing. Benefits could include stuff like medicines or new technology, or it could bring war like in Independence Day (yes, I know, I am a huge sci-fi fan).

I think we should send probes out into space - at the moment we have only got a couple up there Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, which have information about us on it, and maybe it needs updating somewhat.

I run set@home as I think it is a really good idea analysing all the information from these telescopes, and I want to say one day that I helped discover or aided in the finding of an alien life.

Attached is a picture taken in October 2001 with my son when he was in his second week.
